This is a story which began on 3 June when the Russian diplomats were abducted. There has been coverage of the story on RFE/EL and I believe the New York Times ran something earlier in the month. See

It will be interesting to track what happens.
 
On another interesting note, Russia is planning to start satellite broadcasting in the Middle East, trying to gain influence in the region. See
