Junior Visiting Fellowship for Scholars from Ukraine

The fellowship program, which is jointly organized between the Center for Urban History of East Central Europe in Lviv/Ukraine and the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna (IWM), supports research on the legacies of Europe in the History of Ukraine. Topics include modern intellectual, cultural, social and political history. Themes related to urban studies or to one of the research foci of the IWM will be welcome.

The fellow will spend a 10-month term from September 2010 through June 2011 at the IWM in Vienna. The stipend will cover accomodation, living expenses, travel, health insucrance and incidentals during this stay. Furthermore, the IWM will privide an office, access to the internet, in-house research facilities and other relevant sources in Vienna.

Candidates must be
- Ukrainian citizens or permanently reside in Ukraine for study or research purposes
- enrolled in a doctoral program or have recently obtained a Ph.D.
- must not be older than 35 years

The application consists of the following:
- a project proposal in English (max. 3 double-spaced pages)
- a curriculum vitae incl. a list of publications
- 2 letters of recommendation
