Invitation „Teaching Human Rights – International Academy on
Remembrance and Human Rights”

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
we invite you to participate in the “International Academy on Remembrance
and Human Rights” which will take place in Berlin and Buchenwald from 19.
– 25. April 2009!
The International Academy is a unique learning opportunity for people
working in the fields of remembrance and memorials, history and
politics teaching, and human rights education. The goal of the
academy is to convey fundamental knowledge and skills in the field of
international human rights protection and to discuss current issues
in the teaching of history, civic education and human rights.
Please find more information about the Academy, focal topics and
issues, working methods and conditions for participation below as
well as in the attached flyer. If you wish to participate please
write an e-mail to the coordinator of the Academy, Mrs. Anne Thiemann
at the German Institute for Human Rights to receive the application

- Resources: active for human rights and remembrance.

Target group:
The academy is open to participants from the following countries:
Poland, Czech Republic, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia,
Estonia, Israel and Germany. It is aimed at teachers, historians and
political scientists working in the fields involved.
