Dear Friends:
I recently found out that Anastasiya Baburova, an alumna of our
USA/USA Program was murdered in Moscow.
She was killed while working for a newspaper in Moscow.
Anastasiya Baburova was a graduate of School #3 in
Sevastopol and a member of our USA/USA Seminar 2000. In
her application materials to our program, she showed an
interest in democracy, human rights, and international
exchange.
She wanted to combine a career in diplomacy with one in
journalism.
She competed in the final fourth (IV) stage of the
Ukrainian Economics Olympiad. She had superior grades.
Her English was very good.
She did not win a scholarship through our program but
entered the Moscow Institute of International Relations
(MGIMO).
Her obituary is at:

Thank you for your attention.
Very truly yours,
Bohdan A. Oryshkevich
