"UKRAINE AND THE ENVIRONMENT" NEWSLETTER:
This is a compilation of recent news stories prepared by the
Ukrainian-American Environmental Association about a cross-section of
environmental issues affecting Ukraine.
The newsletter, issued on a roughly weekly basis, includes some news
stories published in English and some in Ukrainian (sometimes articles
are provided in both languages) as well as occasional Russian-language
stories.
On average, each newsletter includes twenty to thirty news stories
addressing such issues as energy policy, climate change, air and water
pollution, wildlife and wilderness protection, and toxic wastes.
On occasion, the newsletter also includes alerts about upcoming
environmental meetings, relevant studies and reports, and funding
opportunities.

non-governmental organization founded in 2004 and chartered in both the
United States and Ukraine. It is a network of more than 850 Ukrainian
and American NGOs, academic researchers, businesses, government
officials, and individual citizens to facilitate the exchange of
information on a broad array of environmental issues including, but not
limited to, energy policy, climate change, air and water pollution,
toxic wastes, soil conservation, sustainable agriculture, and wildlife
and wilderness protection.
