The Ukrainian Institute of America
is pleased to announce a
Conversation
between
three Ukrainian writers--Marko Robert Stech, Yuriy Tarnawsky, and Irene
Zabytko--and
Alexander J. Motyl, professor at Rutgers University,
on
Friday, May 4th, at 7:00pm.

Marko Robert Stech is the author of a Ukrainian-language novel "Holos"
(The Voice), short stories, plays, and numerous essays on literature,
theatre, and film. He has also co-produced two award-winning feature films
and was artistic director of the Avant-garde Ukrainian Theatre in Canada.

Yuriy Tarnawsky is a bilingual Ukrainian/American writer, playwright, and
poet. He is a founding member of the New York Group of avant-garde
Ukrainian authors and of the Fiction Collective. His latest works are
"Like Blood in Water" and "Short Tails."

Award-winning fiction writer Irene Zabytko is the author of  "The Sky
Unwashed," the novel about the Chornobyl nuclear catastrophe, and "When
Luba Leaves Home, Stories." She is currently producing a documentary about
the Chornobyl survivors, "Life in the Dead Zone."

A reception will follow the Conversation. The authors' books will be on
sale.

Admission: $10 general; $5 students.

Parking is available at the Metropolitan Museum of Art garage.
