With due respect to both Maidan and Professor Velychenko, I do not believe
that Maidan can or should be the spokesman for the specificity of views of
Ukrainian academics and intellectuals in the American and Canadian
diaspora not only on Ukraine but also on the rest of the world. The
reasons for this are much too numerous, and should be too obvious, to
belabor here.
