Dear Colleagues:
Help contribute to a peaceful world and mutual understanding by housing or
helping host an international student.

The American Councils for International Education, a non-profit organization
committed to international education in the countries of Russia and Eurasia,
is looking for interested families as well as coordinators to facilitate and
host foreign exchange students in the U.S. for the 2007-08 school year.
These students have undergone a competitive process to earn the right to
represent their countries in these programs. Each student speaks English and
is eager to learn about American Culture. These one-year scholarship-based
programs funded by the US State Department to encourage learning and
understanding between Americans and people from Eurasia, include a monthly
stipend, incidental funds and medical insurance.

.	Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX) for students from Russia and
Eurasia
.	Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES) for students from Afghanistan
.	American Serbia and Montenegro Leadership Exchange (A-SMYLE)

WE ARE LOOKING FOR COORDINATORS willing to facilitate the student's stay in
the host family, helping them adapt to the American schools, as well as
maintaining contact with the American Councils about the progress of the
student.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR HOST FAMILIES willing to provide students with a loving
and supportive environment, a place to sleep (sharing a room is okay), meals
and snacks, and a quiet place to study. All types of families, in which
English is the primary language used at home, are welcomed including those
with teenagers or younger children in
at home, retirees, "empty nesters," and single parent families.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR YOU
.	Partake in historic programs sponsored by our government.
.	Share our culture with people from other countries.
.	Break stereotypes and create positive impressions about America.
.	Learn about cultures of the world on a personal level.

More information on the programs can be found at www.americancouncils.org.

Yours in peace and mutual understanding,
