Caritas Austria is looking for a project manager for a migration management
project in Western Ukraine



Job Description:

Co-ordination and management of an EU-funded project at the
Ukrainian/Slovakian border.



Background: Ukraine has emerged as one of the main transit countries for
migrants and asylum-seekers on their way to Europe. While many of the
migrants are from the former Soviet Union (such as thousands of
asylum-seekers from the North Caucasus), they also include individuals from
South Asia, the Middle East and Central and East Asia. The Ukrainian
migration system has been unable to provide legal status to most migrants
and is associated with problematic treatment of migrants and human rights
abuses such as chain deportations, detentions and denying entry to
asylum-seekers.



Main Tasks:

*	Leading a team of employees of local partner organisations
*	Building up relationships to local partners and institutions
including support in organisation and capacity building
*	Responsibility for reporting, accounting and documentation



Qualifications:

*	Experience in project and team management
*	Business administration or other relevant educational background
*	Working experience from Eastern European countries
*	Proficiency in English and good knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian
*	Experience within humanitarian/development work with particular
focus on

             refugee and asylum issues recommended



Commencement: June/July 2006

Duty Station: Uzhgorod/Ukraine

Contract: 6 months, possible extension of contract until June 2008
