** Exhibit: "Made in Kyiv, Made in New York" **
Extended until January 2006, the Institute presents "Made in Kyiv, Made
in New York." Initiated two years ago by Program Director Walter
Hoydysh and Alexander Demko, the exhibition was designed to develop a
portfolio of images with an urban theme interpreted by the 10 unique and
culturally diverse artists from New York City and Kyiv, using both
cities as material and inspiration in their work.
This exhibition coincides with The International Fine Art Print Dealer
Association's Fine Art Print Week in New York. The planned world tour
of the portfolio will culminate with a closing exhibition and
celebration in Kyiv during May 2006.

** The Institute's Winter 2005 Newsletter available online **
The Institute's Winter 2005 Newsletter is hot off the online presses!
Catch up on all the things we've been doing, find out more about what's
up next, and see how you can be part of our activities.

the PDF.
** Spread the word about renting the Institute building **
The Institute has been a highly-desired rental location for events such
as photo shoots, banquets, corporate meetings, various parties, and
weddings. And by renting the building, the Institute is able to raise a
significant portion of its operational income to produce its great
programs. Even if you're not planning an event, help us spread the word
at work and among friends about how the Institute would bring a unique
elegance and charm to their event. Even better, let us know who your
corporate event planner is, or any appropriate event contacts are, and
we'll make sure to get in touch with them.
For more information, just call us at (212) 288-8660, or email
development@ukrainianinstitute.org
** $50,000 left to go! **
In 2006, the Institute building will undergo needed repairs to its
antiquated windows and electrical system. We received $340,000 in
matching grants from two government entities for these repairs. One is
from the Department of Interior, and the other is from the New York
State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation's
Environmental Protection Fund. Through these matching grants, donations
received are matched dollar for dollar. We have already received
overwhelming generosity of members and non-members from across the
country, however we still have $50,000 left to raise.
We're almost there! Your participation is needed now more than ever.
Be part of saving one of America's most historic buildings, and the
pride of the Ukrainian community by contributing to the Matching Grants
Campaign by calling us or emailing development@ukrainianinstitute.org
** What does the Institute mean to you? **
Since 1948, the Ukrainian Institute of America has strengthened the
identity of individuals of Ukrainian descent and the general public by
organizing and sponsoring exhibits, concerts, conferences, symposia and
other educational, scholarship and professional activities.
As we're developing our program calendar, we'd like to hear from you
what you would like to see more of at the Institute. Just email us at
development@ukrainianinstitute.org with your ideas and comments about
what we're doing, what the Institute means to you, and any thoughts you
may have.
