THE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE STUDENTS FROM BELARUS AND MOLDOVA
The Economics Education and Research Consortium (EERC) master's
program in economics at the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla
Academy" (Kyiv, Ukraine) is pleased to announce that the Swedish
Ministry for Foreign Affairs will support the scholarships for
the students from Belarus and Moldova to study at EERC program in
the academic years 2003-04 and 2004-05. Students will study on a
free basis, will be provided with a room in the dormitory,
western textbooks, and an access to Internet. After graduation
the students have great possibilities for further studying abroad
at the PhD level or employment in their home country.
The first in Ukraine western-style EERC MA Program in Economics,
established by international donor organizations, offers a two-
year course of study designed to prepare its students to work as
economists in policymaking institutions and business immediately
upon graduation or to pursue PhD studies abroad. The program's
content, quality, and resources are intended to match those
available in top master's programs in North America and Western
Europe.
Courses are taught almost exclusively in English by faculty
visiting from Europe, North America, and other parts of the
world. Several Western-trained economists from Ukraine and
neighboring countries teach in the program as visiting professors
as well.
Admission to the program is based on merit and is open to the
applicants who meet the basic eligibility requirements:
a.. Diploma of completed higher education by the time of
entrance
b.. Proficiency in English
c.. Strong mathematical skills
A prior specialization in economics is desirable, but not
essential.
The application deadline is July 1, 2003. For more details and
application forms please visit EERC web site:
http://www.eerc.kiev.ua or contact us by tel.: (38-044) 239-2494
or e-mail: eerc@eerc.kiev.ua.
Please distribute this information to all interested persons.
